Health and Fitness

Juicing My Diet
So 2013 is quickly coming to an end! I have a goal to lose at least thirty pounds before I walk across stage and truly complete my journey back to school! So I promised myself that I wouldn't wait to make it New Year's resolution, instead I am starting on my journey today! I started off in the beginning of my weigh-loss journey at 187 pounds. So let me first give you guys the history behind the extra pounds!
So of course I started back at school in 2008 and enrolled into the evening and weekend program at a local  university. My weight at that time was 144 pounds! So with such a busy lifestyle of working three jobs, going to school, being a mother and keeping up with my motherly duties, study late night for exams and doing homework I began to put on the pounds!

I contribute my horrible diet and the fact that I skipped meals all day only to make up for them really late at night and getting straight into my bed. I mean I would eat anything that was quick and easy to make ( junk food). So it didn't help that I immediately went to sleep with no physical activity to burn off all of those calories!

So here I stand today, I've lost a total of 15 pounds so far and I am still working towards my goal of thirty-five pounds lost. I have decided to add juicing to my healthy routine to help give me an extra health boost. I made my first "green" juice today and it was yummy, although I didn't care for the bitterness of the lemon I used. I actually documented my first juicing experience on camera, so if you guys would like to see it check it out on my YouTube channel at :

So below are the ingredients of my very first juice recipe:

Beginners Green Juice

3 Medium Sized Apples

5 Stalks of Celery

1 Whole Lemon ( including rind)

1 Large Orange (peeled)

8 Handfuls of Spinach (200g)

Below are some pictures of my first juicing experience. It was lots of fun and I determined to do this for 21 to 30 days. I will be substituting breakfast, snack and dinner for juice and eating one complete meal for lunch.

Camouflage Me

Camouflage has been a really big trend for Fall 2013 trends and I am absolutely loving it. I previously discussed with you guys my love for different prints. In my opinion camouflage is almost like any pair of black and white pattern pants. You can wear them with any color and they give you twist to your style. Camouflage also goes perfect for the change of weather and with its pattern we blend into the beautiful background of the colorful leaves and bright skies that Fall offers us. So I styled a couple of camouflage pants that I have in my wardrobe for you guys. I have three separate outfits using some of the same pieces. You can dress camouflage pants up and make them sexy or you can dress them down with sneakers and allow your accessories the job of giving them that feminine flare. You also dress down completely and wear them with sneakers and a basic shirt. Let me know what you think about all of the different ways that you can wear camouflage. Which one is your favorite?

Country Chic

So you guys I am a big lover of fashion! My fashion style includes a little bit of everything. i love to mix different textures, prints and colors. I also love to mix country with a city flare, or tomboy style with a little bit of feminine flare Colors make each outfit and original to me and adding a pop of orange or blue to an black & white outfit makes it pop that much more. I love fashion because it allows us to express our individuality. Everyone has a particular style that they love. Majority of the time I prefer sneakers over heels but I will through on some nice heels when I feel like a want to be sexy and fun.
So you guys here is my first fashion combination. This combination was fun, flirty and comfortable at the same time. Take a look!

Above is the complete outfit. I really love how all of these pieces just flow together and the pop of color given from the blue handbag just adds a little bit of fun to this country chic fit!

I purchased this beautiful chocolate brown faux leather jacket from Marshall's.

This animal print scarf and basic white sweater were both purchased at Ross Dress for Less

I had been looking all over for a hat as the one shown in this picture. This safari inspired hat was purchased at Ross Dress for Less.

I actually pulled my jeans inside of my boots to show all of the details on the beautiful camel colored boots. I love the spike and stud details that cover each strap on these boots, and the 2 1/2 inch heels adds to the comfort of these boots. I purchased these boots from the Shoe Dept.

I thought this was the perfect outfit for such a beautiful fall day. What do you guys think?

There is nothing better than waking up each morning knowing that I get to make more ladies Glam"More-us! I really love what I do. I look forward to the clients who have come to me for years as well as a the new faces I see on a weekly basis. I love the quietness of the morning as I begin to prepared for another day, and as the day progresses, the laughter, the sharing of experiences and even more the smile upon a clients face when I turn them to the mirror. Thats right! I am the stylist that keeps you from looking in the mirror. All Naturale

I love hair extensions and wigs and the many options that they both provide for me, but as beautiful as they are, I make sure to never forget about my natural hair! I love taking care of my natural hair. To take care of  my hair in between styling I shampoo once a week when wearing a wig, and only after removing my extensions. I also make my own at-home protein and conditioning treatments.

my at-home protein treatment is really simple. I just crack a couple of eggs and mix it with olive oil. After the mixture is completely mixed i apply it to my hair and allow it to air dry.

After it is completely dry (the hair will become really hard) I rinse the treatment out and proceed to conditioning.

For a deep conditioning at-home treatment I absolutely love to use Silicon Mix as the conditioner using only one part, one part Agave or honey and one part vegetable glycerin into a tinting bowl. i apply this to my hair and allow it to sit for up to thirty minutes. You can always add a plastic cap for even deeper penetration of these ingredients!

After the conditioner has reached it's time limits, I rinse, apply more vegetable glycerin (this is perfect for dry or damaged hair) and blow dry on the lowest settings. Check out my results?

Versatile Style

I really love everything there is about hair. Hair is definitely a form of art, so every now and then I love to do something different with that canvas provided to me ( my hair). So Glam/More-Us Gals i did a versatile sew in. the process is really simple and not that much different from your average sew in technique. I really love this style because it gives you the ability to wear your hair extensions with fewer limitations in styling. I can wear it in a high bun, or ponytail or flowing down my back. this time I decide to do a braided style. So I braided up one side of my hair and allow the opposite side to cascade over my shoulder. It's really fun, flirty and feminine, and perfect for any special occasion. The two styles blended together gives this hairdo added excitement and textures. It allows you to enjoy both putting your hair up and letting it hang! What do you ladies think. You can check out how I achieved this style on my Youtube channel below: http://youtu.be/91saYNWTnU4

Do What With My Hair?

So I was invited out to go with a friend to celebrate her birthday, and I had no idea what to do with my hair! You ladies know that we can be really indecisive when it comes to an outfit and our hair can be even more  of a dilemma! I am usually really good at these kind of things, but with my recent retreat to my home, avoiding all social activities, I kind of felt like I had lost my touch. I can usually envision the perfect outfit, shoes, what color to paint my nails....but my HAIR!
I was stuck on pause on what to do with my hair. Is this what a lack of involvement in social activities does to girl? Do we somehow forget to get glammed up? Of course we don't! It's in our DNA to do these things! so I narrowed it down to two styles.

And finally went with a simple bun. It was classic, and you can never go wrong with a high bun! What are some of your go to styles? Do you prefer a bun or long curls? Which hairstyle would you have went with? I think a high bun is the perfect way to show off your facial features, display those fly earrings and give a little attention to your neck, a place that goes unnoticed at times!
